“Out” is a contemporary jazz show led by the Canarian pianist and composer Alexis Alonso. It is based on the repertoire created for the third album of his quartet. Intensity, beauty, rhythm and above all … Emotion, define the project.

Accompanying his piano, in addition to double bass and drums, the cello, adding a unique sound within the international jazz scene and giving the project a very personal mark. With “Out” the viewer shares a musical journey full of nuances, details and feelings, and it is that through the quality of the compositions by Alexis Alonso and his incredible band, a reflective and vibrant experience is lived.

The upward trajectory of the Alexis Alonso Quartet in the jazz scene, blessed by specialized critics at the national and international level, has led to collaborations with world jazz stars such as Seamus Blake, Ralph Alessi and Pedrito Martínez for this new album.

“Out” has been defined by the prestigious jazz magazine “In and Out Jazz” with the following words, “It sounds expansive, ambitious, bright and luminous. Big music ”. The prestigious music journalist Alton Ellis defines the album as “a genius”, while Pere Pons (L’Home del Jazz / rtve – radio 4) values the figure of Alexis Alonso as “one of the musicians who are setting the standard for jazz in the XXI century”. These are some of the examples of the repercussion that the Tenerife pianist and his quartet are currently having.

It should be noted that the path was opened by his previous works, «In» (2018), nominated for several awards such as «best jazz album of the year 2018» (Canary Music Awards and Min Awards / Madrid) and the live album “Live in Barcelona – Jamboree Live 19” (2019), recorded at the legendary Jamboree venue in Barcelona, which selected the band’s performance as one of the best of the year, which led to the publication of the album under their label “Jamboree Live” .

Alexis Alonso became known to the general public for the success of his solo piano albums: “El Paisaje” (2014) and “The Birth of Time” (2016) as well as for his role as a composer of soundtracks. In 2021 he also publishes his new solo piano album, “Love in Floating Bridges” where he has two luxury collaborations, Jorge Pardo and Marco Mezquida in three duets. In short, Alexis Alonso seeks to continue expanding and exploring his music from different angles and with “Out”, the Alexis Alonso Quartet are going to conquer the highest levels.

The Alexis Alonso quartet is made up of Ciro Hernández on cello, Roberto Amor on drums and Moisés García on double bass. A band of the highest quality and that together navigate to perfection over Alexis Alonso’s compositions and his magic on the piano.
